Disposal Site
Effective Monday, April 25, 2022, access cards are required for use of the Disposal Site.
Access cards are available for City of Kaukauna residents only for a fee of $25 per year (cards are valid for 365 days from purchase date). They can be purchased starting at our Streets, Parks, and Recreation (SPaR) building, 207 Reaume Avenue.
Location and hours of Disposal Site:
The site is located at the intersection of W. Third St. and Bicentennial Ct., behind the Streets, Parks, and Recreation (SPaR) building, and will be available to residents (via access card) from 6:30 AM-8:00 PM, seven days per week. When using the disposal site, please enter from Third St., and exit on Bicentennial Ct.
What is accepted at the disposal site?
Yard waste, small amounts of brush, excess garbage, excess recycling, and waste oil are accepted.
Proper dumping:
- Yard waste must be dumped out of bags or containers (unless in a biodegradable bag).
- Yard waste must be free of debris prior to dumping.
- Similar to brush pick-up, please pile brush neatly – cut ends pointing outward.
Wood chips are available for pick-up at the Disposal Site. They are on a first-come, first-serve basis and may not always be available.
What items are NOT accepted?
The following items are NOT accepted at the Disposal Site:
- Metal – take to Goldin Iron & Metal Recycling Corp. or wait until large/irregular pick-up week
- Electronics/white goods
- Furniture
- Mattresses
- Refrigerants
- Construction material
- Landscaping timbers
- Tree stumps
- Toxic waste
- Chemicals
- Explosives or ammunition
- Flammable liquids
- Paints (other than dried latex paint)
- Batteries
- Tires
- Hazardous waste – Visit the Outagamie County website for details on safe and proper disposal of hazardous waste.
What is the cost? How do residents obtain access to the site?
Access cards will be available beginning April 25th, 2022 for an annual charge of $25 (valid for 365 days from purchase date) and may be purchased in the SPaR building at 207 Reaume Avenue between the hours of 8 AM and 4:30 PM*. Proof of residency is required at time of purchase.
* Please note, from May 30, 2024 through Sept. 4, 2024, the SPaR building will be open from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Thursday and from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday.
There will be a $5 fee for replacement cards. Please let us know as soon as possible of any lost or stolen cards.

How does the gate system work?
The access cards, or fobs, can be used to open the gate during operational hours – 6:30 AM-8:00 PM, seven days a week.
Will there still be a spring and fall clean-up?
Yes, spring and fall clean-up remains the same. We will also continue with fall leaf pick-up.
Is the disposal site staffed?
No, the site is not staffed. However, security cameras are in place.
The City of Kaukauna may issue fines and may revoke privileges to the Disposal Site, without refund, for violations of Disposal Site rules or any Municipal Code.
