KAUKAUNA, Wis. – In March the City of Kaukauna welcomed Dave Kittel as its new Director of Planning and Community Development. Kittel will be integral to promoting economic opportunity and growth within the Kaukauna community.

In his new position, Kittel will oversee economic development, long range planning, zoning administration, and building inspections. Kittel is well-suited for this role. He performed similar job duties in his previous position as the Community Development Director for the Village of Little Chute.

A resident of Kaukauna for the past two years, Kittel has gained insight into what opportunities are available for the city and feels privileged to have the ability to make an impact.

“Kaukauna is an expanding community that presents incredible opportunities for current and future residents and businesses,” Kittel said. “I’m looking forward to bringing a different view on developments and keeping the momentum going for revitalizing the downtowns.”

Kittel has Bachelor of Arts degrees in political science and history and is an active National Guardsman for the United States Army. He also serves on numerous committees and groups in the Fox Valley such as the Fox Cities Greenways. Prior to working for the Village of Little Chute, Kittel worked for the Department of Revenue where he reviewed municipal assessment reports, large acre sales, and sale statistics to find trends in the market. He also has experience serving as an assessor where he performed all duties of a municipal assessor and ensured municipalities were in compliance with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue requirements.

“Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the City of Kaukauna. His diverse background in municipal development and planning will prove to be extremely useful as we continue to grow.” said Mayor Tony Penterman. “We’re excited to have Dave here to help us foster a thriving economy for all who live, work, and play in Kaukauna.”
