Project 2-23 Update – Week of October 30th

Park Street, Klein Street, 4th Street, & 5th Street Areas:
CONSTRUCTION :
- Scott Lamers will be back on November 6th to continue their work on Private Sanitary Sewer Laterals and Water Services. They will remain on site until they finish all remaining properties.
- Northeast Asphalt will be on site Monday and Tuesday to pave the remaining streets. Please allow for some time to pass before driving on the newly placed asphalt. It gains its strength by cooling and being compacted by rollers. Driving on it too soon could result in rutting and an uneven surface.
DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on Park Street, Sullivan Avenue, Klein Street, 5th Street, or Hendricks Avenue while the Contractor is performing their milling work. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily and quickly complete their respective work. Park in your driveway if possible, or far enough away from their work zones.
- If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.
WORK ZONE SAFETY
While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.

Utility and Street Construction is not easy. There will be dirt, mud, dust, equipment, and workers everywhere. Construction activity will be noisy, and getting to your residence will be difficult at times. We understand that it can be frustrating while it happens, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we make the much needed improvements to your street and utilities.
