ORDINANCE ADOPTING UPDATED FIRE CODES

WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, in furtherance of its function to protect public health, safety and welfare by promulgating fire prevention and construction requirements for public buildings, multifamily dwellings and places of employment , has adopted new fire codes; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Kaukauna has an existing Fire Code in Chapter 21 of the Kaukauna Municipal Code, which code is intended to accomplish the same ends; and,

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the fire codes of the City of Kaukauna be kept current and integrated with those of the State of Wisconsin and of neighboring municipalities;

NOW, THEREFORE , the Common Council of the City of Kaukauna, Wisconsin, do ordain as follows:

Section 21.01(1)(a)(3) is hereby repealed in part, as to the last paragraph therein which adopted International Fire Code – 2009 and said paragraph is recreated to read as follows:

International Fire Code – 2015

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) incorporated standards and codes published in the International Fire Code- 2015 (IFC).

This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication.
