Grignon Mansion Board Meeting Minutes – February 22, 2016

  2. Roll Call:

    i.Members Present: Mark Abel (Chair), Geneieve Gara, Bruce Werschem, John Brogan, Al

Borchardt, Mary Vander Sanden

    ii.Members Absent: Richard Pauls, Lin Collins

    iii.Others Present: Bob Jakel, Patty DeGoey, Patti ______

b.Call to Order: Chair called the meeting to order at 5pm

c.Approval of Prior Minutes:

    i.Mr. Brogan made motion to approve the January Minutes, Mr. Werschem seconded it. Motion

carried unanimously.

d. Administrative and Finance Committee Report – John Brogan:

    i. February balance stands at $9,873.37.

e. Friends Statement of Income – Bruce Werschem:

f. City of Kaukauna Update – Bob Jakel:

    i. Boy Scout Jamboree is all set to go.

    ii. A doll from the Mansion of was damaged, prompting a discussion of proper artifact care. A

specialist traveling to look at the damage and maybe repair it, his consulting fee has been

waived.

g.Education and Events – Al Borchardt:

    i. An ice cream social and community band performance has been scheduled over the summer

for A.Grignon’s birthday.

h.Building and Grounds Committee Report – Richard Pauls:

    i.Mr. Pauls was absent.

i.Volunteer Progress Report – Al Borchardt:

    i. There was a total of 2,597 hours with December being the lowest month at 71 hours, and

August being the highest at 580. Kathy and Joe DeBruin put in the most volunteer hours with 275

and 278 hours respectively.

j.Email Correspondance: Peter Peregrine from Lawrence University will be invited to speak at the

next Board Meeting.

k.Next Meeting: Next meeting will be either March 21st at 5pm, or April 4th depending on when

invited guests are able to make it.

II. Old Business:

  1. Patty DeGoey’s, Friends Chair, concerns from the last meeting were addressed.
  2. A proper inventory list of Grignon artifacts needs to be assembled and gone over.

III. New Business:

  1. Meeting was adjourned at 6pm, motion carried unanimously.
