Grignon Mansion Board Meeting Minutes – April 25, 2016

Brogan, Patti Poretto, Bruce Werschem,
ii.Members Absent: Mary Vander Sanden, Lin Collins
iii.Others Present: Bob Jakel, Patty DeGoey
b. Call to Order:
i.Chair called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm
c. Approval of Prior Minutes:
i.Mr. Borchardt moved to approve prior minutes, Ms. Porretto seconded, motion carried.
d. Administrative and Finance Committee Report – John Brogan:
i. No finance report yet.
ii.Mansion Board and Friends Agreement revisions underway
e. Friends Statement of Income – Bruce Werschem:
i.The March statement was given at the earlier April meeting, April’s statement will be
presented May 23rd.
f. City of Kaukauna Update – Bob Jakel
i. Boy Scout Jamboree is planned and set to go. 225 people are signed up for tours.
ii.Hwy 96 residential development. This is a long term project where a trail network is expected
to eventually go past the Mansion.
g.Education and Events – Al Borchardt:
i.387 hours from January to March, may increase as some people have not reported in.
ii. June 8th is Augustin Grignon’s birthday celebration with ice cream and music.
iii.June 11th will be the KARMA event and the Farmer’s Market.
iv.June 22nd will be the Little Chute City band and Culver’s ice cream social.
v.Annual Car Show is being planned; Cavanaugh is lending the Mansion a carriage free of
charge. Rides will possibly be offered.
vi.The Community Foundation will be celebrating their 30th Anniversary in October, they will
cover all Mansion admission tickets that day and are potentially bringing in theater students to
offer living history scenes.
h.Building and Grounds Committee – Richard Pauls:
i.The number of gardening volunteers has risen.
ii.Dave ;is ready to meet with John regarding money for smithy.
iii.Smithy will be up and running for all events, there will also be a new volunteer training there.
iv.Electrical problem has been fixed by Plutz.
v.Mr. Abel will look into fixing the cellar entrance.
II. Old Business:
- None to report.
III. New Business:
- Bob Jakel will talk to the City Attorney about having volunteers sign wavers to work in the blacksmith.

Ms. Porretto made motion to adjourn meeting, Mr. Borchardt seconded it, motion carried unanimously.
