Bridge Going Up!

The Veterans memorial bridge was lifted today for inspection in preparation for the rehabilitation in 2018. The bridge has been out of commission for many years after the Locks had been shut down. It was unknown how well the bridge was going to operate prior to the lift today, however, the bridge made it all the to the top and back down.
The inspection report is due back in the coming months which will indicate the estimated cost to rehabilitate the bridge. The City is rehabilitating the bridge so the Fox River Navigational System Authority is able to operate all locks between the Bay of Green Bay and Lake Winnebago.
