Project 2-23 Update – Week of September 25th
Click here for proposed work locations and possible residence impacts for the week of September 25th.
Park Street, Klein Street, 4th Street, & 5th Street Areas:
CONSTRUCTION :
- Scott Lamers will continue to work on Private Sanitary Laterals & Water Services on 4th Street.
- Carl Bowers will continue to have 2 crews on site next week. One crew will begin the week by working on Water Main Construction on Hendricks and Park Street. Upon completion of the water main they will be relaying the Sanitary Sewer on Park Street. The 2nd Crew will continue relaying Public Sewer Laterals & Water Services on 5th Street between Main and Hendricks.
- Northeast Asphalt will be on site Friday, September 29th to begin removing remaining asphalt on 4th Street, Main Avenue, and 5th Street between Crooks and Main (Possibly up to Reaume). This area is not shown on the drawing yet, but they will be working to Grade and Pave these same Streets during the week of October 2nd. Please avoid parking on the Street in these areas on Friday so they can complete this work. The machine they use is quite large and needs ample room to move.
Additional Construction Notes:
- There will be another project happening on the Alley between 3rd and 4th Street from Crooks Avenue to the dead end just Northwest of Reaume Avenue. If you would like weekly updates about this project as well, please send an email to Jeff Bodoh at [email protected] stating such. This work will begin on Monday the 25th.
DRIVEWAYS/PARKING
Please do not park on the Road on 4th Street, Hendricks Avenue, or Park Street while the contractors are performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily and quickly complete their respective work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.
- If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.
WORK ZONE SAFETY
While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.
*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORK AND SCHEDULE CAN CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER OR UNFORSEEN CONSTRUCTION DELAYS. THESE UPDATES ARE TO AID THE COMMUNICATION PROCESS AS WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IN A TIMELY MANNER*
Utility and Street Construction is not easy. There will be dirt, mud, dust, equipment, and workers everywhere. Construction activity will be noisy, and getting to your residence will be difficult at times. We understand that it can be frustrating while it happens, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we make the much needed improvements to your street and utilities. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns. We can’t help if we don’t know.
