Road Construction Updates – Week of August 26-30
1-24 Concrete Street Paving Project
The contractor will continue the trimming and fine grading work on Eighth Street, Ninth Street, Tenth Street, Quinney Avenue, and Metoxen Avenue . They will be setting a string line for the unpaved lanes they will be paving this coming week for the trimmer and paving machine. Early the week of August 26th, the contractor will pave the unpaved lanes, the list of streets below. While the contractor is working on a street, the street will be closed to all traffic. The contractor will notify you before this work starts. Please find alternate parking while this work is taking place. You will not be able to drive on the new concrete for 7 days while it is curing and strengthening. The lanes that were paved should be open before the other side of the street is paved.
List of Streets and lanes the contractor will be working on:
- Eighth Street -south side -Pave Tuesday the 27th
- Ninth Street – south side – Pave Tuesday the 27th
- Tenth Street – north side -Pave Wednesday the 28th
- Quinney Avenue – east side – Pave Wednesday the 28th
- Metoxen Avenue – east side – Pave Wednesday the 28th
- Spring Street – No work the week of August 26th
One end of each alley will be open to traffic. One lane of traffic will be open to traffic after the first lane paving. The open areas at the intersections, the west side of Spring and the south side of Eighth Street (Spring Street to Metoxen) will be hand poured the week of September 3rd.
