The sewer contractor is planning to start the storm sewer work on Wednesday July 17th on Tenth Street between Crooks Avenue and Metoxen Avenue and installing some storm inlets on Quinney Avenue at Tenth Street. The week of July 22nd the contractor will be working on the storm sewer laterals on Tenth Street between Quinney and Metoxen Avenues. Please do not park on the Streets while the storm sewer work is taking place, please find alternative parking.
The week of July 22nd the contractor’s excavation crew will start excavating, placing stone base and grading Eighth Street from Crooks Avenue to Spring Street, Spring Street from Eighth Street to Tenth Street, Quinney Avenue from Eight Street to Ninth Street, and Ninth from Crooks Avenue to Metoxen Avenue. The contractor wanted their to be further along with the sewer so the two crews would not be in each other’s way. While the contractor is excavating and placing stone base, the street will be closed to all traffic. Please find alternate parking while this work is taking place.
2-24 W. Tobacnoir Street Area Utility Relay
- Carl Bowers Construction –Will have 1 crew on site next week. This crew will be completing the very few remaining excavation items on Monday. After this, they will be performing a thorough cleaning of the job site by sweeping, hauling materials and equipment off site, smoothing the gravel roads, and fixing up any and all low spots in terraces and sidewalks. This will complete their required work in the roadway and up to the sidewalk. We will allow trenches to settle for a few weeks before paving.
-
-
- (There is a tentative date for remaining paving work set for August 12th. This would include all remaining streets yet to be paved, as well as any needed patches from prior areas. This date is subject to change over the next few weeks. Grass restoration to follow this work.)
-
- WE Energies – WE Energies has concluded their gas main and service replacement project. They will be working to restore their work items in the next few weeks along with Carl Bowers.
- Scott Lamers Construction – Will continue completing private lateral replacements in various locations throughout the job site.
5-24 Kenneth Avenue Utility Relay Project
Arthur Street Area – The Contractor will be relaying sanitary sewer main from 125 Arthur Street to Lawe Street the rest of this week. Once they are done relaying sanitary sewer, they will be installing water main from Lawe Street to 125 Arthur Street.
DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.
- If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.
WORK ZONE SAFETY – While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.
* PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORK AND SCHEDULE CAN CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER OR UNFORSEEN CONSTRUCTION DELAYS. THESE UPDATES ARE TO AID THE COMMUNICATION PROCESS AS WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IN A TIMELY MANNER *
Please do not hesitate to contact our Engineering Department with any questions or concerns. We can’t help if we don’t know.
