Posted on Jul 12, 2024 by

1-24 Concrete Street Paving Project

The sewer contractor is planning to start the storm sewer work on Wednesday July 10th on Ninth Street between Crooks Avenue and  Quinney Avenue. The week of July 15th the contractor will be working on the storm sewer work on Ninth Street between Quinney and Metoxen Avenues.   Do not park on the Streets while the storm sewer work is taking place, please find alternative parking. The contractor will be excavating, placing base stone, and grading on Eighth Street, Spring Street and part of Quinney Avenue the week of July 15th.  This work was further delayed  due to weather.

2-24 W. Tobacnoir Street Area Utility Relay

  • Carl Bowers ConstructionPlan to have 3 crews on site next week. Between those 3 crews they plan to work on water main on Division Street between Lawe and Desnoyer, water main work at the intersection of Tobacnoir & Blackwell, and as many remaining public services/laterals as possible on Oviatt, Desnoyer, Blackwell, and Division Street. (There is a tentative date for remaining paving work set for August 12th. This would include all remaining streets yet to be paved, as well as any needed patches from prior areas. This date is subject to change and is dependent on how the next few weeks go. Grass restoration to follow this work.)
  • WE Energies –  WE Energies will continue working on their gas replacement project in and around the neighborhood as shown on the below map.
  • Scott Lamers Construction – Will continue completing private lateral replacements in various locations throughout the job site.

DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.

  • If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.

WORK ZONE SAFETY – While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.

*  PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORK AND SCHEDULE CAN CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER OR UNFORSEEN CONSTRUCTION DELAYS. THESE UPDATES ARE TO AID THE COMMUNICATION PROCESS AS WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IN A TIMELY MANNER  *

Please do not hesitate to contact our Engineering Department with any questions or concerns. We can’t help if we don’t know.
