Road Construction Updates – Week of July 8-12

Posted on Jul 3, 2024 by

1-24 Concrete Street Paving Project

The sewer contractor will be working on installing storm sewer on Quinney from Eighth Street to Ninth Street and on Spring Street from Eighth Street to Ninth Street the week of July 8. The contractor will be excavating, placing base stone, and grading on Eighth Street the week of July 8.  This work was delayed due to weather.

2-24 W. Tobacnoir Street Area Utility Relay

  • Carl Bowers ConstructionPlan to have 3 crews on site next week. Between those 3 crews they plan to work on water main and sanitary sewer on Tobacnoir Street between Desnoyer and the Railroad tracks, sanitary sewer on Oviatt Street, sanitary sewer on Division Street, and public laterals/services on Desnoyer Street between Tobacnoir and Taylor.
  • WE Energies –  WE Energies will continue working on their gas replacement project in and around the neighborhood as shown on the below map.
  • Scott Lamers Construction – Will continue completing private lateral replacements in various locations throughout the job site.

5-24 Kenneth Avenue Utility Relay Project

Arthur Street Area – The contractor will be working on replacing the sanitary laterals and water services between the sanitary main and water main and the back of sidewalk, from about 450 feet southeast of Lawe Street to Green Bay Road.

DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.

  • If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.

WORK ZONE SAFETY – While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.

*  PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORK AND SCHEDULE CAN CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER OR UNFORSEEN CONSTRUCTION DELAYS. THESE UPDATES ARE TO AID THE COMMUNICATION PROCESS AS WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IN A TIMELY MANNER  *

Please do not hesitate to contact our Engineering Department with any questions or concerns. We can’t help if we don’t know.
