Mayor/Students Plant Trees for Tree City USA

On Wednesday, May 24, Mayor Gene Rosin and some students from River View Middle School planted trees for the Tree City USA program.  This program has been greening up cities and towns across America since 1976. It is a nationwide movement that provides the framework necessary for communities to manage and expand their public trees. Kaukauna is a community that makes the planting and care of trees a priority, because trees bring shade to our homes and beauty to our neighborhoods, along with numerous economic, social and environmental benefits.

The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.
