No Ordinary Park System
Many communities boast parks and protected greenspace. But in Kaukauna, it’s not just another city amenity; it’s a way of life. With over 450 acres of park and greenspace, miles of the mighty Fox River, the 1000 Islands Conservancy and Eagle Days – this is no ordinary park system. From the beginning, the city developed around its natural assets, leaving room for nature to thrive. In return, nature has provided for the city as well, from educational wildlife sanctuaries to hydropower utilities, and beyond.
About Our Parks
The City of Kaukauna features 35 City-owned parks and open spaces, which have been classified as one of three types of parks (regional, local, or neighborhood), or one of two types of open spaces (urban or natural). There are a number of privately owned and operated open spaces, as well as school-owned parks that contribute an additional 270 acres of parks and open spaces. These 35 open spaces make up 458 acres of dedicated park and open space in the City limits and feature a wide range of setting, amenities and natural environments.
