Seedling Sale Kick-Off
While we may be in the traditionally coldest and snowiest days of winter, it’s time to think Spring! Our annual seedling sale, sponsored by Kaukauna Utilities, is open for orders now through April 1st (or while available quantities last). Tree & Shrub Species Available for 2026:
White Pine (Pinus strobus) 6-9″ seedling: A fast-growing, hardy and adaptable to many soil types. Prefers partial to full sun. Soft needles in clusters of five. Great for windbreaks, reforestation, shade, and Christmas trees. Grows 60-80’ high, 20-40’ spread. Sold in bundles of 10.
White Spruce (Picea glauca) 6-12″ seedling: Evergreen with dense blue-green needles. Fast-growing, shade-tolerant, and good for heavy soils. Popular as a Christmas tree, deer-resistant, and valuable for wildlife. Grows 50-70’ high, 15-20’ spread. Sold in bundles of 10.
Red Maple (Acer rubrum) 12-18″ seedling: Valued for its vibrant seasonal color. Adapts well to a variety of soils. Attracts game birds. Grows 40-60’ high, 35-45’ spread. Sold in bundles of 5.
American Elderberry (Sambucus canadensis) 12-18″ seedling: Large, spreading shrub with white flowers and edible berries. Great for wildlife cover and erosion control. Grows 10-15’ high, 10-15’ spread. Sold in bundles of 5.
Winterberry (Ilex verticillate) 12-18” seedling: Highly adaptable shrub loved by songbirds and small mammals. Produces white flowers in early summer and red berries in late summer. Berries may remain on the plant into winter. Prefers acidic soil. Grows to 3-12’ and 3-12’ spread. Sold in bundles of 5.
Nannyberry Viburnum (Viburnum lentago) 12-18” seedling: Multi-stem shrub with glossy leaves, white flowers, and sweet berries. Good for moist areas and borders. Grows 15-25’ high, 6-12’ spread. Sold in bundles of 5.
