Eagle Days at 1000 Islands

Eagle Days Activity Schedule

7:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Enjoy a variety of free family activities, including interactive eagle experiences, an eagle-themed craft, a coloring contest, door prizes, and more! Food and beverages will be available for purchase, courtesy of the Friends of 1000 Islands.

7:00 AM – 8:30 AM | Sunrise Eagle Viewing
Viewing Locations: 1000 Islands Fishing Pier, Nelson Overlook, and Ahlstrom Technology Support Center – Thilmany Rd, Kaukauna (North side of the Fox River)
Catch the best Eagle activity at sunrise, 7:07 AM. Naturalists and volunteers will be at the viewing sites from 7 AM to 5 PM to help you spot Eagles and answer your questions. Sunrise and sunset viewings are highly encouraged.

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM | A Storybook Walk and Adventure 
Walk along the boardwalk trail at 1000 Islands and read the book Meet a Baby Eagle by Heather Schwartz. Reading stations will be set up for a self-guided walk to read a page or two at each station. Visit each station to read the entire book.

10:00 AM | 1:00 PM | 3:00 PM: Live American Bald Eagle Presentations
Location: 1000 Islands Nature Center – North American Room
Come and experience a live Bald Eagle up close! Discover fascinating insights into Eagle biology, ecology, natural history, and cultural significance in this captivating and informative presentation. Each presentation will feature a Bald Eagle Ambassador from the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN. This Eagle Days program is sponsored by the Friends of 1000 Islands.

11:00 AM – 11:45 PM: Honoring the Eagle – A Cultural Presentation
Location: 1000 Islands Nature Center
Join us for a presentation by Kim Cackowski, the Native American Outreach and Engagement Coordinator at Kaukauna Public Library. She will share the cultural significance of eagles and explain the honored traditions and responsibilities associated with being an eagle feather holder.

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Sunset Eagle Viewing
Viewing Locations: 1000 Islands Fishing Pier, Nelson Overlook, and Ahlstrom Technology Support Center – Thilmany Rd, Kaukauna (North side of the Fox River)
Sunset is at 5:00 PM and this is another great time to catch some of the best eagle activity.
