2-26 Wisconsin Avenue Area Utility Relay
Utility replacement will begin next week on this project. Please see the below map showing work locations and possible impacts for the week of June 29th. There will be no work on Friday, July 3rd for the holiday weekend, and crews will have the job site straightened up by the end of Thursday.
- Carl Bowers & Sons – Will have 1 crew on site all next week for sure and may have a 2ndcrew on site starting Tuesday or Wednesday to work on another street. It is undetermined at this point whether or not the 2nd crew will be on site, but please plan accordingly in the event that they do show up. Arrows are provided on the map to show which direction work should be moving along each street. As you see the work getting closer to your property, please know that your driveway will be inaccessible until they work past it. If both crews are on site next week, they will work to accommodate resident parking in the parking stalls along Riverside Drive closer to Wisconsin Avenue. This may work as a good alternate parking location when driveways are inaccessible.
- Crew #1 – Will begin with Water Main construction on Idlewild Street. They will start down by Riverside and work their way north along the street. Temporary water service will be provided to affected homes along Idlewild on Monday.
- Potential Crew #2 – Would work on Sanitary Sewer Main replacement on Riverside Drive.

General Notes
DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.
- If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.
WORK ZONE SAFETY – While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.
* PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORK AND SCHEDULE CAN CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER OR UNFORSEEN CONSTRUCTION DELAYS. THESE UPDATES ARE TO AID THE COMMUNICATION PROCESS AS WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IN A TIMELY MANNER *
Utility and Street Construction is not easy. There will be dirt, mud, dust, equipment, and workers everywhere. Construction activity will be noisy, and getting to your residence will be difficult at times. We understand that it can be frustrating while it happens, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we make the much needed improvements to your street and utilities. Please do not hesitate to contact our Engineering Department with any questions or concerns. We can’t help if we don’t know.
