1-25 Concrete Street Paving Project

  • The contractor will continue working on constructing the sidewalk and driveway aprons along the streets listed below, they should be done with the sidewalk and driveway aprons by the end of the week:
    • Beckett Lane
    • White Birch Trail-Sidewalk only
  • The landscape work will continue on Antelope Lane.  They might start the landscaping on Beckett Lane depending on the progress of the sidewalk construction.
  • For garbage pick up, please set out your garbage and recycling like usual.
  • Haas Road from White Wolf Lane to White Dove Lane will be paved with an asphalt binder mat sometime in mid to late September after most of the other construction is complete.
  • After the landscaping is finished, we recommend that the homeowners water the new landscaping a couple times a week.  This will speed up the growth of the grass, which will prevent weeds from growing.
  • If the contractor did the terrace landscaping across your property, you could install your mailbox in accordance with the guidelines from the Post Office, see street locations below.
  • Below is the side of street for mailbox placement on each:
    • Antelope – North Side of Street EXCEPT for 2101, 2111, 2121 ARE SOUTH side of Street
    • Haas Road – East Side of Street
    • Snow Goose – West Side of Street
    • Beckett – East Side of Street
    • Weiler Road – Can place them in front of their house – either side of the road
  • The construction schedule may change due to weather or contracts other obligations.

3-25 Alley Paving Project

  • The contractor is planning to start excavation and stone placement.  They will start at Crooks Avenue and work west to Eden Avenue.  Last week they experienced delays due to the weather.
  • The contractor may start the storm sewer work between Hendricks Avenue and Main Avenue.  They will start this work near Hendricks Avenue and work east.
  • Please find alternative parking while the contractor is working in the alley behind your property. For garbage pick up, please set out your garbage and recycling like usual.

General Notes

DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.

  • If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.

WORK ZONE SAFETY – While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.

*  PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORK AND SCHEDULE CAN CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER OR UNFORSEEN CONSTRUCTION DELAYS. THESE UPDATES ARE TO AID THE COMMUNICATION PROCESS AS WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IN A TIMELY MANNER  *

Utility and Street Construction is not easy. There will be dirt, mud, dust, equipment, and workers everywhere. Construction activity will be noisy, and getting to your residence will be difficult at times. We understand that it can be frustrating while it happens, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we make the much needed improvements to your street and utilities. Please do not hesitate to contact our Engineering Department with any questions or concerns. We can’t help if we don’t know.
