1-26 Concrete Street Paving Project

Week of August 10th

• Utility Traffic-Set up traffic control Bens Way, Setter & Boxer (W)
• TNT-Concrete staking 1^st sides of Brill/Eden/Sullivan/Hendricks (F)

2-26 Wisconsin Avenue Area Utility Relay

The paving operation for this project has been postponed until next Thursday and Friday, August 13^th and 14^th. This is to allow concrete placement to be properly completed on Wisconsin Avenue. The attached map looks very similar to last week’s, with a few different descriptions in the notes box.

• Carl Bowers & Sons – All their work has been completed.
• City of Kaukauna – Will continue placing concrete in remaining locations along Wisconsin Avenue. They are almost done with this.
• MCC Asphalt – Will be on site all week:
  • Thursday, August 13^th – The paving crew will be on site to place asphalt pavement. The roadway is prepped and ready, so no additional work should be needed earlier in the week. Feel free to park in your driveway every day that no work is taking place on site. However, on Thursday when paving crews arrive, please do not park on the street, and if you must come and go during the day, please park in an alternate location. Allow a few hours to pass before driving on fresh asphalt. It needs time to cool and harden to its desired strength. When driving on the new asphalt, please do not turn your tires while sitting still, or it may rip up the stones within the pavement.
• Scott Lamers Construction – Still waiting on a firm date for when private sewer/water work will begin.

7-26 Ann Street & Main Avenue Utility Relay

• Feaker & Sons – Will be working primarily between Main Avenue and Crooks Avenue on Ann Street. They will be attempting to complete as much remaining utility work as possible, with hopefully only a day or two of work remaining for the following week. With the work occurring in this block, Ann Street access will be very limited from Crooks Avenue.
• Northeast Asphalt – Is planning on coming the week of August 17^th to perform asphalt pavement. Keep an eye out for next week’s update for more information related to this part of the project.
• Scott Lamers Construction – Is planning on coming within the next few weeks to perform the handful of private lateral replacements that need to be done on Ann Street. They will be reaching out to set up appointments with individual homeowners.

General Notes

DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.

• If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.

WORK ZONE SAFETY – While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.

Utility and Street Construction is not easy. There will be dirt, mud, dust, equipment, and workers everywhere. Construction activity will be noisy, and getting to your residence will be difficult at times. We understand that it can be frustrating while it happens, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we make the much needed improvements to your street and utilities.
