Thank You, Kaukauna! – A message from our Street Superintendent

First, I want to extend a sincere thank you to all residents of the City of Kaukauna. The recent Blizzard Elsa was a historic storm, and your cooperation—especially staying off city streets—allowed our Public Works team to safely and efficiently cover routes multiple times throughout the event. Your work to keep public walks clear is also commendable, but the clean-up needs to continue around the city.
For the rest of this week, the City is continuing our efforts to remove snow from public roads and areas of walk typically cleared by city crews. Beginning next week, efforts will shift toward clearing sidewalks and curb ramps adjacent to private properties to help restore safe walking routes. We ask for your continued help to remove snow from sidewalk and curb ramps to create safe routes for our kids, our neighbors, and all residents and visitors alike. Given the volume of snow and its high moisture content, we understand that cleanup is challenging. If you need assistance clearing your sidewalks or crosswalk ramps, please consider reaching out to family members or neighbors. Supporting one another is key to keeping our community safe and accessible.
Thank you again for your cooperation, resilience, and commitment to our community. Please stay safe.
Sincerely,
Jake Van Gompel, Street Superintendent
