2-25 Tobacnoir Area Utility Relay

  • Carl Bowers ConstructionWill have 2 crews on site working in separate locations:
    • Crew 1 – Will start the week completing the remaining sanitary sewer main work on Blackwell Street between Tobacnoir and the Dead End. Once they finish the sewer main, they will begin working on replacing sewer laterals and water services from the main lines in the roadway up to the back of sidewalk. This is the portion of the work referred to as “public lateral replacement” and is unrelated to the private work to be performed in the future by Scott Lamers Construction. If all goes well, they will also begin lateral replacement on Desnoyer Street starting at Tobacnoir working north.
    • Crew 2 – Will start the week by relaying the sanitary sewer on Desnoyer Street between Tobacnoir and Seymour Street. Once they get to Ducharme, they will move down by Seymour and work south from there. They also plan to construct the new water main on Desnoyer between Ducharme and Seymour next week as well.

  • The contractor may start the storm sewer work between Hendricks Avenue and Main Avenue.  They will start this work near Hendricks Avenue and work east.
  • Please find alternative parking while the contractor is working in the alley behind your property.
  • For garbage pick up, please set out your garbage and recycling like usual.

9-25 Linda Court & Thelen Avenue Utility Relay Update

  • Scott Lamers Construction – Will be on site starting today, and will remain on site until all private work is completed. They will be focusing efforts on Linda Court to begin, then working on Thelen Avenue from Ann toward Henry. They will be reaching out to set up a pre-visit to plan how they will complete the work at your property, then scheduling a follow up appointment to come perform the lateral replacement. Asphalt sidewalk/driveway patching and grass restoration to follow.

General Notes

DRIVEWAYS/PARKING – Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.

  • If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.

WORK ZONE SAFETY – While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.

*  PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORK AND SCHEDULE CAN CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER OR UNFORSEEN CONSTRUCTION DELAYS. THESE UPDATES ARE TO AID THE COMMUNICATION PROCESS AS WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IN A TIMELY MANNER  *

Utility and Street Construction is not easy. There will be dirt, mud, dust, equipment, and workers everywhere. Construction activity will be noisy, and getting to your residence will be difficult at times. We understand that it can be frustrating while it happens, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we make the much needed improvements to your street and utilities. Please do not hesitate to contact our Engineering Department with any questions or concerns. We can’t help if we don’t know.
