What is a municipal code?

A municipal code is a collection of local laws and ordinances passed by the Legislative Committee and the Common Council. These laws and ordinances cover a wide range of topics like building codes, zoning, public safety, and other regulations to help keep people safe and help the city run smoothly.

Who has to abide by the municipal code?

Anyone within the city limits, including visitors, residents, businesses, organizations, and the City of Kaukauna itself.

What happens if someone violates an ordinance in the municipal code?

There are consequences if someone is in violation of a city ordinance. Depending on the ordinance, consequences may include, but are not limited to, a warning, fine, and/or jail time.
