2025 Road Construction Updates – 9-25 Linda Court & Thelen Avenue Utility Relay July 14-18

July 11, 2025

After next week, most of, if not all of the excavation work in the roadway will be complete. As work is completed; crews, materials, supplies, and equipment will be leaving the project site, and crews will be cleaning up and smoothing everything out for easy travel until roads are paved. Grass restoration will follow street paving and private lateral replacement.

**Mail Delivery – As you are likely aware, mail delivery has been suspended by USPS on the project… With multiple crews coming to the site, it was difficult for the mail truck to navigate to all mailboxes. Next week, while the project wraps up excavation, mail will be held at the post office and can be picked up during open hours (120 Doty Street – M-F 8:30am – 4:45pm and Saturday 8:30am – 12:00pm).

**Blue Pipe Shavings in Water Lines – Some residents have noticed blue pipe shavings coming from their water supply lines. This can happen during a utility project like this. If you have any questions or concerns related to this or need assistance, please reach out to Kaukauna Utilities at 920-422-0974, they would be happy to assist.

CONSTRUCTION :

  • Carl Bowers ConstructionThere will be a few crews on site next week to wrap up any remaining utility work in the roadway. As work is completed, extra crews will disappear from the site. The following items will be completed:
    • All remaining Storm Sewer on Linda Court
    • Storm Laterals throughout the job that need to be reconnected, repaired, or constructed
    • Final Water Main tie-in at Thelen Avenue/Ann Street intersection. The intersection will be closed during the day on Monday and Tuesday next week. Please use an alternate route until this work is completed
    • Water services on Henry Street between Thelen and Glenview
    • Final Storm Sewer tie-ins at miscellaneous locations
  • Northeast Asphalt – Is tentatively scheduled to come to the job site around August 11th to place asphalt pavement on all disturbed, previously paved areas. An update will be sent out closer to that time with more details.
  • Scott Lamers Construction – Still waiting on a firm schedule from Scott Lamers Construction to come to the job site to perform private sewer and/or water service replacement. An update will be sent out closer to that time with more details.

DRIVEWAYS/PARKING Please do not park on the road while the contractor is performing their work in the area. They need plenty of room for their trucks and equipment to be able to easily, quickly, and safely complete their work. Park in your driveway if possible, or on the nearest side street.

If you need special accommodations for parking, please reach out as we can arrange different parking options. This includes anyone with disabilities, recent surgeries, expecting mothers, and mothers with newborns that have appointments. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” for parking and property access. The fewer cars that the contractor has to work around, the faster they can get the work done on your block and move on.

WORK ZONE SAFETY While driving through the construction site, be sure to travel slowly and keep an eye out for equipment. This not only cuts down on dust, but also keeps the construction workers safe. Operators try their best to see traffic, but their view can be obstructed at times. It is always best to try and gain eye contact with equipment operators prior to driving by. You may need to wait at times before driving by depending on the work being performed. Please be patient during construction.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORK AND SCHEDULE CAN CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER OR UNFORSEEN CONSTRUCTION DELAYS. THESE UPDATES ARE TO AID THE COMMUNICATION PROCESS AS WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT IN A TIMELY MANNER  *

Utility and Street Construction is not easy. There will be dirt, mud, dust, equipment, and workers everywhere. Construction activity will be noisy, and getting to your residence will be difficult at times. We understand that it can be frustrating while it happens, but we ask for your patience and understanding as we make the much needed improvements to your street and utilities. Please do not hesitate to contact [email protected] with any questions or concerns. We can’t help if we don’t know.
