2025 Road Construction Updates – 1-24 Concrete Street Paving Project – Terrace Landscaping

The City has met with the contractor and their landscape restoration contractor from the 2024 Concrete Street Project about the weeds in the terrace.  The landscape contractor has some recommendations for residents, see list below:

• Mow the terraces on a regular basis.  This should eventually kill off the weeds.
• Water the terraces to help grass grow faster and become thicker.
• Using a fertilizer with a weed control will also help the grass grow faster and eliminate most of the weeds.
• The City and the contractor will evaluate the terraces in a few weeks to determine if the weeds have died off and if the grass has thickened.

Note: the netting was used to hold mulch down so it wouldn’t get blown or washed away.  The mulch helps hold moisture in the ground and helps keep the grass seed in place.  The netting will eventually disintegrate.
